ChamberFit

In Summer 2006, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield and the Indianapolis Chamber unveiled ChamberFit, an innovative fitness incentive program designed to keep Indiana’s workforce healthy and help businesses better manage their health care costs.

ChamberFit is available exclusively to Indianapolis Chamber members who are enrolled in ChamberCare and includes discounted memberships at local fitness centers, discounts on fitness equipment from area retailers and a suite of online tools and services to help individuals achieve their health and fitness goals.

“Data has shown time and time again that the healthier the employee is, the more productive he or she is at work,” said Roland Dorson, Indianapolis Chamber president. “So we’re thrilled to offer our members ChamberFit, a unique and innovative program in the state, to help improve the business climate in central Indiana.”

In addition to discounted fitness center membership, the ChamberFit program gives members access to several online tools and resources:

A health risk assessment that asks members to answer a series of questions based on their personal and family health history. Members receive a comprehensive report, detailing their current health status and risk profile.

-Online coaching, conducted by certified personal trainers, registered dieticians and psychologists is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

-A virtual trainer provides hundreds of multi-media exercise demonstrations to help members get the most of their exercise plan.

-eTracker gives members the ability to monitor their progress on the path to a healthier lifestyle.

Members are also rewarded for participating in the program, earning points for exercising. Points can be redeemed at a special Web site, where members can “buy” items such as fitness mats, exercise balls, duffle bags and gift cards from national retailers.
