The Greater Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to establishing Central Indiana as a place where businesses can grow and prosper and where new companies – both those moving from elsewhere and startups – can take seed and flourish.
The Indy Chamber believes that regional mass transit is critical towards helping create a strong economic engine that this community needs for the future. A solid mass transit system allows our workforce to be more mobile, spurs economic development and reduces congestion.
The Indy Chamber is a partner in the Central Indiana Task Force and is working towards a regional solution that moves our transit system into the 21st century. The Task Force also consists of members from the Central Indiana Corporate Partnership (CICP), the Central Indiana Community Foundation (CICF), Metropolitan Indianapolis Board of Realtors (MIBOR), IndyGo, the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), and the Central Indiana Regional Transit Authority (CIRTA).
The Indy Chamber would like to see Indianapolis move forward with the creation of a regional, multimodal mass transit system that is affordable to taxpayers. We would also like to see the revitalization and expansion of our bus system with bus rapid transit routes and passenger rail lines. We continue to rally for approval of this important issue.
